ABOUT ME

I was born England in 1975 where I spent most of my life working as an artisan woodworker until 2008 when I decided to move to Australia. It was there that I discovered my passion for painting and began to document the world around me through art. I have always had an affinity for the arts, but it was in my new home that I found my calling as a painter.

After a few years of honing my craft, I began entering art competitions, and to my delight, I found great success. This success encouraged me to pursue painting full-time, and I have since exhibited my work extensively throughout Australia and the U.K. My artwork primarily falls into the categories of portraiture and landscape, both of which have garnered critical acclaim.

My paintings can be found in many public and private art collections, including the Gold Coast Art Gallery, Cliftons in Brisbane, and The PLC Sydney.

In 2018 I move back to England with my young family to the picturesque coastal town of Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire where I set up my studio/gallery in the heart of town.

My art is inspired by the energy and movement of life and the drama and dynamics of my surroundings. My new home has reignited my passion for capturing the world around me through painting. I strive to imbue my art with a sense of vitality that captures the essence of my subjects, be they people, landscapes or abstracts.

Awards:

I have won numerous awards for my work such as taking first place in the prestigious Adelaide Perry drawing prize in Sydney, winning the Cliftons Art prize in Brisbane, being hung in the Archibald prize exhibition in Sydney and Runner up in the Moran Portrait prize to name a few.
